Moon Jar Object Candle Aqua Celadon

A candle in the shape Joseon potters left behind — thrown in two halves, joined at the waist, never quite symmetrical.

The Moon Jar
UNJO MANSION shapes the jar itself from wax. Each piece is formed by hand, so the curve leans a little differently every time. The wick sits in the neck, where the mouth of the jar would be. When the wax burns down, the jar stays: an object first, with a candle inside it.

Aqua Celadon — green hay
From the studio’s Four Seasons series, for spring. Bergamot and bay leaf over dried hay and tobacco. Finished with the crack glaze used on old ceramics, so the surface reads as a web of fine lines.

Care
Trim the wick to about 5 mm before the first burn, and again each time you relight. Burn on a heat-safe dish, away from drafts, and never leave a flame unattended.

On the surface
Fine cracks and a pale bloom on the wax are normal in plant-based candles. A slight lean, a soft seam, a colour that shifts a little between pieces — these are the work of hands, not flaws.
